ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- UPDATE: The Elkhart Municipal Airport has confirmed the identities of the individuals on the plane as Wendell Ridenour and Bill Holdgrafer.
ORIGINAL STORY: Authorities confirm a plane crash near Bristol in Elkhart County leaves two dead.
The crash happened in a wooded area off County Road 21 with calls coming in around 2:30 p.m.
The two people who died in the crash were occupants in the small aircraft.
Flight records obtained by ABC57 from FlightAware.com show that the plane was flying from Coldwater, Michigan, roughly a 36-minute flight from the Elkhart Municipal Airport, where the plane was presumed to be heading.
Fortunately, the plane didn't hit any buildings or bystanders and it crashed into a wooded area behind a row of homes off County Road 21. None of those homes were damaged.
The investigation is still ongoing over the cause of the crash.
