SOUTH BEND, Ind. --- A triple shooting Sunday morning in South Bend is under investigation.
According to dispatch, the call came in around 4:06 a.m. regarding shots fired.
Two of the shooting victims were discovered at a gas station on the corner of Lincoln Way West and Adams but according to dispatch the shooting did not occur there.
It's believed the victims were shot in the 4800 block of W. Western.
Both gunshot victims were transported to Memorial Hospital.
A 23-year-old male victim suffered a wound to the arm and a 24-year-old male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
Both men are expected to be ok, authorities say.
Four hours later, authorities learned of a male walk-in shooting victim who suffered an injury to the hand. That victim, police say, is also connected to the incident on W. Western.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a gathering of around 200 people occurred just before shots rang out.
The scene is active. Dozens of evidence markers in the parking lot of a strip mall are displayed, the majority of which are shell casings.
The South Bend Police Investigative Bureau is handling the case.
Anyone with information is asked to call the South Bend Police Department at 574-235-9201 or Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP.
