34-year-old man extricated from single-vehicle crash in Silver Creek Township

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - Cass County Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on M-152 near Leach Road in Silver Creek Township, Saturday night around 11:14 p.m.

Authorities say their investigation shows 34-year-old Justin James Richter, of Dowagiac, was traveling west on M-152 near Leach Road when he lost control and went off the roadway to the left striking a telephone pole and then a large tree.

Officials say Richter had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital for his injuries.

Documents state Richter was wearing his seat belt and speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

Alcohol and drug use is unknown currently.

This crash remains under investigation.
