CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- A 73-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a tree he was cutting down, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies said they were called to 58685 White Temple Road around noon after a tree fell on 73-year-old Robert Wright.
The investigation revealed Wright was cutting down a tree when it fell into another tree, which uprooted itself. The two trees struck Wright and he was pinned under them.
He was extracted from the trees by emergency personnel, but succumbed to his injuries.
