Benton Harbor Superintendent placed on leave

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Benton Harbor Area Schools Superintendent Dr. Shelly Walker was placed on paid non-disciplinary administrative leave Tuesday night.

According to the school board, members voted unanimously to place Walker on the leave pending an investigation by a law firm

It is unclear as to what the investigation is focused on.

This decision from the school board comes just one week after former Superintendent Dr. Leonard Seawood was sentenced to jail time for stealing money from the district.
