Paving work in Berrien County to start soon

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - The Berrien County Road Department (BCRD) will begin a "scratch and seal" resurfacing project on multiple roads starting Monday, April 22.

LAKE TOWNSHIP

• Floral Lane from Red Arrow Highway to I-94
• Thornton Drive from Willow Drive to Livingston Road

NEW BUFFALO TOWNSHIP

• Lubke Road city limits to US-12

Prep work will start on April 22, and paving will officially begin April 29.

Later in 2024, the BCRD will sealcoat over the new asphalt layer.

Single lane closures are expected while work is done.

Officials say to expect travel delays, lane closures, and traffic controlled by flaggers.

Motorists are asked to reduce speed while going through work zones and to watch for workers and equipment.
