Child drowning at family lake house

SILVER LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Officers responded to a fatal drowning on Indian Lake in Silver Lake Township, according to the Cass County Sherrif's Office. 

At approximately 3:32 p.m. on September 1, the victim, a 3-year-old boy, drowned at his family's lake house and was administered CPR by a family member. 

First responders also attempted to revive the child, unsuccessfully, and he was later sent to Borgess Lee Hospital in Dowagiac where the medical staff pronounced him deceased. 

Deputies do not suspect foul play was involved.
