ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The Common Council votes in favor of some tax breaks to turn this downtown South Bend property into a new entrepreneur hub.
Momentum Development Group plans to invest more than $6.3 million into a new building off the corner of South Main Street and West Monroe to build a co-working space with a commercial kitchen, retail, and cocktail bar.
It was owned by the Salvation Army until 2015 then it was used for the city's Weather Amnesty Program.
The common council approved an eight-year tax abatement totaling more than $830,000 dollars to support the project.
