SOUTH BEND, Ind.—Elite Sports Academy (ESA) teamed up with Leaps & Bounds gymnastics to host an open gym to raise funds to help ESA’s former office manager with medical bills on Friday.
Anna Norquist contracted Toxic Shock Syndrome caused by Streptococcus A.
Miraculously, against all odds, she survived, but remains very ill.
Norquist has endured 10 surgeries thus far, including the amputations of both arms and both legs.
All proceeds from the benefit will go directly to Norquist and her family.
Children participated in several gymnastics warm-ups and routines during the open gym.
Blue t-shirts with the words “Anna’s Army” printed on the front were worn by several participants.
