Firefighters extinguish house fire in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Firefighters put out a house fire on East Miner Street near Coquillard Park Tuesday morning.
St. Joseph County Dispatch said the fire started around 3 a.m.
Officials say the fire started in a room towards the rear of the house which caused smoke damage.
The lone person in the home was able to get out safely.
It is unclear how the fire started.
