SOUTH BEND, Ind. -The Ford and Walnut streets intersection improvement project has begun in South Bend.
Work includes shifting the curb to better align Walnut Street through the intersection, new sidewalks, curb ramps, bumpouts, trees, and storm sewer work.
A concrete speed hump will also be installed on Walnut Street south of the intersection.
The intersection will be closed for the duration of the project and is expected to be completed by mid-September.
