NEW BUFFALO, Mich. -- Red flags are up at beaches along Lake Michigan because of rough waters. But the windy, cool weather didn't keep visitors off New Buffalo Beach Friday afternoon.
Brayden Schilling was visiting Lake Michigan from Columbia City, Indiana. He was surprised by the big waves.
"Oh yeah, this is pretty bad. I've never seen it like this," Schilling said. "It's not stopping our enthusiasm though, We were out there running around."
Six to ten foot waves crashed along the piers.
"This is my first time to this beach and I've only been to Lake Michigan one other time," Schilling said.
