Hickory Village apartments catch fire Monday morning

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Hickory Village apartments at the 4500 block of North Hickory Road in Mishawaka caught fire early this morning with at least three apartments being impacted.

Firefighters say the call came in around 7:30 a.m. and the fire started on the second floor. Power was shut off to 12 apartments during the fire, but firefighters believe only three of the apartments will be unlivable for a period of time.

This includes the apartment where the fire started and the apartments above and below that were impacted by water damage.

One person was taken to the hospital and there is no word yet on their condition.
