South Bend man charged in murder of Montell O’Neal

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - Today the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office charged Javante Walker for the murder of 24-year-old Montell O'Neal.
O'Neal was shot and killed on September 12, 2021 in the 800 block of Washington Street.
Walker has been charged with murder and firearm enhancement.
Walker was apprehended by the South Bend Police Department on June 27, 2023 and is currently being held in the St. Joseph County Jail. He is expected to be arraigned Thursday, June 29, 2023.
