Jeep catches fire following engine trouble Thursday night

NEW PARIS, Ind. -- The New Paris Fire Department reports crews responded to a vehicle fire on S.R. 15 south of Industrial Drive around 11:48 p.m.
Fire officials arrived to find a Jeep on fire. They say the fire was out by 12:15 a.m.
The report states the driver had known engine issues and pulled over when he realized something was wrong.
The Jeep then began smoking and caught fire, at which point the driver tried to extinguish himself at first.
He then called 911.
The jeep was totaled as a result of the fire.
No injuries have been reported.
