La Porte County coroner arrested for OWI

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. - The La Porte County coroner was arrested for operating while intoxicated after a crash near the outlet mall in Michigan City Friday night.
Just after 9 p.m., the Michigan City Police Department was called to the intersection of West 4th and Wabash streets for a crash.
There, police found damage to a vehicle and to a sign and landscaping.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Lynn Swanson, admitted to drinking too much and agreed to field sobriety tests, police reported. The responding officer said Swanson’s eyes were red and glassy and that she smelled strongly of alcohol.
A certified breath test at the police department showed a BAC of 0.164.
