SOUTH BEND, Ind.-Veterans Day has passed, but it’s never too late to give back to those who fought for our country. Local painters are holding a contest to help out one lucky veteran in Michiana.
Five Star Painting of Elkhart and South Bend is asking the community to nominate a deserving veteran for a free room painting.
The room must be 200 square feet or less.
“We absolutely respect and honor our veterans,” said Moriah Jurgonski, Owner of Five Star Painting of Elkhart. “Someone who is willing to give their life to someone they don’t know is a hero whether they accept that title or not.”
To enter the honest, just head to Five Star Painting of Elkhart, or South Bend’s Facebook page. In the comments section on the post, tell them why a veteran you know deserves to win. November 15th is the last day to enter. A winner will be drawn by midnight on Friday, November 17th.
The company is also looking for donations of gently used winter jackets.
It's part of their 2nd annual "Coats for Coats" drive. All donations will go to The Salvation Army.
"They'll donate to those needy families in our area and it's an easy way to clean out your closet," said Anthony Kulikowski, Owner of Five Star Painting of South Bend.
If you donate, you can be entered for a chance to win a $200 gift card.
