Man arrested on drug charges, tries to destroy meth in front of officers

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A man was arrested on several drug related charges Thursday following a 3-week investigation into the alleged distribution of crystal meth.

According to the Southwest Enforcement Team, Manowar Jones, 39, was arrested as a result of the investigation.

During a search, detectives found about a half an ounce of crystal meth, several ounces of marijuana, cash, and a cell phone.

Officers say while being taken into custody, Jones attempted to destroy the crystal meth he had in his possession but officers wrestled the drugs away from him.

Jones was booked for two counts of delivery of meth, possession of meth with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, resisting and obstructing police, and destruction of evidence.
