Man shot in the leg early Sunday morning on Garfield Avenue

ELKHART, Ind. -- A man was taken to the hospital after he was shot in the leg early Sunday morning, according to Elkhart Police.
Police were called to the 100 block of W. Garfield Avenue to investigate a shooting with injuries at 12:11 a.m.
The victim told police he was outside when he heard the sound of gunfire and was shot in the leg.
He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of what was believed to be a non-life threatening injury.
