NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Star Notre Dame Freshman and Penn High School graduate Markus Burton won ACC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

Burton most notably led the Irish to a 74-66 victory over Virginia Tech on Notre Dame's home court Saturday.

The Mishawaka native recorded 16 points, eight assists and six steals. This feat has only been accomplished by Chris Thomas in 2001 and Jerian Grant in 2013 in Notre Dame program history.

Burton's six steals tied a single-game record for third most in program history.

With 16.2 ppg, Burton leads all freshmen in the ACC and ranks 4th nationally among Division-1 freshmen.

Notre Dame returns to action Wednesday, February 14, hosting Georgia Tech at 7 p.m.
