MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- All around the world it is, Fat Tuesday, but here in Michiana, many celebrate Paczki Day.
ABC57’s Jackie Bauer enjoyed the beloved polish pastries at two local bakeries as they sold out of the treat that only comes once a year.
Dutch Maid Bakery in Goshen and West End Bakery in Mishawaka shared with us the tradition and answered some FAPQs (Frequently asked Paczki questions), like what is the correct pronunciation and what separates the delicacy from a doughnut.
