Mishler will serve District 1 after 7-point win following recount

ELKHART, Ind. - After a recount, Aaron Mishler will continue to serve Elkhart's City Council District 1. 

Councilman Mishler announced the total vote on his Facebook, Monday, showing a seven-vote win over Republican candidate Nicole Read. 

The recount was issued by Elkhart GOP Chair, Dan Holtz, after a close race in municipal elections: Mishler: 491, Read: 485.

After a recount was performed, the votes from November 7 were found incorrect. 

Mishler's vote remains consistent, with 491, but Read's decreased by one, leaving a final vote of 484.
