National table tennis tournament happening in South Bend March 16-17

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Table Tennis Club has announced the 59th Butterfly St. Joseph Valley Open Table Tennis tournament will take place March 16-17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Indiana University-South Bend Student Activities Center.

Organizers say 200 entrants from 25 states will compete across 29 events, including the main tournament as well as different competition based on age and skill level.

Some of the top talent from across the country will be competing including Hammed-Taiwo Adeyinka, Zexuan Wang, Isiaka Wahab, Gediminas Mickus, and Shuang Wang.

Organizers say the Butterfly St. Joseph Valley Open is one of the longest run club tournaments in the country.
