Notre Dame unveils The Shirt 2018


NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The University of Notre Dame unveiled The Shirt Friday afternoon outside Hammes Bookstore during a celebration featuring entertainment, food, giveaways and special guests, including former Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith.

The first Shirt came out in 1990 as a way to raise money for student activities. They sold about 9,000 shirts and raised more than $17,000.

That number has increased every year for the last 28 years. They sold more than 130,000 Shirts last year.

Total, more than 2.5 million Shirts have been sold and $11 million has been raised.

Notre Dame Head Football Coach Brian Kelly unveiled The Shirt, along with Jaylon Smith, at 6 p.m.

It is now available for purchase for $18.
