One man injured in early-morning crash

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - A Niles man was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Howard Township just after midnight on Thursday.

The crash occurred just after midnight near the intersection of Barron Lake Road and White Street. 

The driver was traveling north on Barron Lake Road when he veered off the road and struck a telephone pole and a tree.

The 30-year-old was taken to Niles' Corewell Hospital for his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, but officials do believe that alcohol may have been a factor.
