One man is dead from apparent gunshot wound in Elkhart

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says they were called to the 71000 block of County Road 9 at 4:53 a.m. this morning for reports of a man who had died from a gunshot wound. 

"Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male deceased within the residence," the ECSO said. "The scene was secured, and the Elkhart County Homicide Unit was requested to respond for further investigation."

There is no threat to the public as this appears to be an isolated incident.
