Tuesday, January 16, 2024
There is an end in sight to the bitter cold across Michiana. However, temperatures will still fall to near zero tonight, with wind chills between -15 and -25 likely Wednesday morning. Feels-like temperatures will finally climb above zero Wednesday afternoon, with air temperatures reaching the double digits! Light snow is likely Wednesday night into Thursday morning, but impacts should be minor for most with accumulations coming in around an inch or two. Another round of system snow arrives Thursday night into Friday, with lake effect snow ramping up again for parts of Berrien and Cass counties in Michigan and for LaPorte & St. Joseph counties in Indiana. This lake effect could be more substantial and could last into Saturday morning. Highs will hang out near 20 degrees this weekend before above-freezing temperatures and rain showers arrive next week.
Tonight: Bitterly cold. Low 0. Wind chills between -15 and -25 for Wed. AM
Tomorrow: Not as cold. Mostly cloudy with snow arriving at night. High 18.
Thursday: Snow showers in the morning and at night. Otherwise, mostly cloudy and not quite as cold. High 24.
Friday: Snow showers early, then lake effect snow. High 20.
