One person injured in Cass County crash due to weather and road conditions

CASS COUNTY, Mich. --Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office was called, just before 10:00 p.m., on January 19, 2024, to investigate a personal injury crash near Cassopolis Road, Mason Township, on Old M-205.
Investigation shows that 39-year-old South Bend resident, Porfiro Luna, was driving north on Cassopolis Road, when weather and road conditions caused him to lose control of his vehicle, go left off the road and strike a power pole.
Luna was wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened and was transported to Elkhart Memorial Hospital for minor injuries from the crash.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered a factor in this crash.
