One person shot at Irish Hills Apartments in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- One person is injured after a shooting at Irish Hills Apartments.

South Bend Police were called to 4200 Irish Hills Drive around 1:30 a.m. on Monday.

When they got there, officers found a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Authorities say the 911 caller said a suspect was trying to break in their home and shot their son through a glass door.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The Violent Crimes Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
