Pasztor’s attorney requests mental health evaluation

Amber Pasztor’s attorney has requested a mental competency evaluation for the mother who admitted to smothering two of her children in late September. 

Our partners at The Elkhart Truth report that the motion to determine Pasztor's competency was filed with Elkhart Circuit Court on Thursday. 

The court will appoint two or more mental health professionals to determine if Pasztor is able to comprehend the proceedings of her defense. 

Sources say Elkhart Prosecutor Curtis Hill filed for a life sentence without the possibility of parole on Thursday as well. 

Pasztor was charged with two counts of murder after admitting to abducting and killing her 7-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son.
