SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- One of the events held on Tuesday in honor of Patriot Day was at the Robert L. Miller Sr Veteran's Center on Michigan Street.
Family members of 14 local veterans who died 17 years ago received flags in their honor.
"It's a very significant measure that we do in honor of all the lost loved ones, in honor and in memory of those lost loved ones. They were veterans that were lost in the World Trade Centers and the planes on the fields and it's a very important factor that they all be recognized and appreciated," said veteran Don Weiss.
The American flag was lowered to half-staff while Taps was played. The missing man salute was given and the historic Warbirds of America flew overhead in tribute.
Here are the names of the veterans honored Tuesday.
