Possible handgun found in Michigan City High School bathroom

La Porte County, Ind. -- Michigan City High School is investigating a possible gun brought into the building. 

In a statement to parents, the district says a Snapchat video shows students with a weapon in the bathroom. 

Michigan City Area Schools is still working with police to confirm if the gun in the video is a real weapon or a gun look-a-like. 

School officials believe the student brought the item in just to make the video, according to the investigation. 

All 10 students who appeared in the video have been identified by the school. 

These students could face school discipline and legal consequences.
