Section of S.R. 2 being resurfaced starting March 28

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana Department of Transportation announced Monday morning that there will be lane closures on State Road 2 between U.S. 20 in LaPorte County and Quince Road in St. Joseph County beginning "on or after Thursday, March 28," INDOT officials said.

"This 14-mile stretch of State Road 2 will be resurfaced, resulting in alternating lane closures through early November," INDOT officials said. "Work will begin in the section between U.S. 20 and Snowberry Road. The project will include asphalt patching, pipe work, culvert, resurfacing and pavement markings. Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and delays during peak times."

INDOT is asking drivers to allow extra time when traveling through this area and follow traffic directions carefully.

"Motorists should slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones,"" INDOT said.
