Semi-trailer carrying pigs crashes in South Bend

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - A semi-trailer carrying pigs flipped on the South Bend bypass this morning. 

The vehicle was traveling west on Ironwood Road when it appears to have veered off the road. 

Another crash was also reported near the scene involving a vehicle that hit an unknown object on an off ramp. 

Both incidents occurred approximately between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. EST. 

We have not received word on the status of the pigs that were in the trailer at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported in the other single-vehicle crash.
