Single-vehicle crash claims life of driver in La Porte Monday morning

LA PORTE, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle crash at 3:51 a.m. at County Road 1000 North near Frontage Road this morning.
Authorities say a black 2012 Range Rover was traveling east on CR 1000 North when the vehicle left the south side of the road east of Frontage Road and went into a ditch.
The car continued east while still in the ditch, crashed into several trees, and flipped.
The only person in the car was the driver, who pronounced dead in the car at the scene.
Identification of the deceased is being withheld, per the La Porte County Coroner’s Office.
Deputies say toxicology tests results are pending and the crash investigation is ongoing.
