Slide-offs, crashes reported on Toll Road near La Porte

Multiple crashes and slide-offs are being reported on the Toll Road near mile marker 47 westbound (after the LaPorte Toll plaza). All westbound lanes are closed.
Indiana State Police are asking drivers to not travel on I-94 through La Porte because of dangerous road conditions.
Emergency crews are on scene.
In St. Joseph County, westbound traffic is being diverted at Exit 72/U.S. 31 in South Bend because of these crashes.
Indiana State Police recommend taking State Road 2 instead of U.S. 20 and to avoid Michigan City altogether.
