SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend announced its Public Works Water Division will hold a full-scale emergency response drill this Tuesday, April 30, at the North Pumping Station on the east side of Leeper Park from 7:30 to 11 a.m.

"The drill will simulate a Water related emergency and is part of the city’s effort to ensure that all key personnel are trained and aware of necessary protocols and procedures," said Deputy Director of Public Works Jitin Kain. "The drill area is restricted to the east side of Michigan Street by the Bartlett roundabout."

While the drill is active, Bartlett Street, from Michigan Street to Riverside Drive and Riverside Drive from Michigan to Barlett streets, will be closed.

Navarre Street will be the detour route for these closures.

Drivers on Michigan Street may experience delays due to the number of response vehicles on-site and travelling through the area. They are asked to keep traffic moving as smoothly as possible and yield to emergency vehicles.
