South Bend Education Foundation receives grant from Comcast

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Education Foundation was given a $15,000 grant from Comcast in order to support South Bend School teachers and students.

The grant will provide additional support for the Teacher Store and Teacher Wish List Programs. They also will receive general funds that are able to assist with additional necessities throughout the academic year.

“We are so grateful to Comcast for this generous support,” said South Bend Education Foundation Executive Director Steve Funk.

“The Teacher Store and Teacher Wish Lists are vitally important to our teachers. This gift allows us to provide even more resources for our teachers and students.”

The Teacher Wish List is an application-based program where teachers can apply for grants up to $300 in order to support classroom needs. The Teacher Store has classroom supplies which teachers can pick up free of charge in order that they do not purchase supplies themselves.

The South Bend Education Foundation is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization with a mission of strengthening academics for students and teachers from the South Bend Community School Corporation. Learn more information about the foundation here.
