South Bend resident dies in crash on U.S. 20

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. - A South Bend resident is dead following a crash on U.S. 20 Monday afternoon, according to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 1:30 p.m., a Chevrolet passenger vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree near the northwest corner of U.S. 20 and Wilhelm Road.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital for their injuries.
The passenger of the vehicle, identified as 33-year-old Kendra Murphy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
