Suspect in deadly crash on Redfield Street identified

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - Deputies identified the suspect in a deadly crash on Redfield Street Sunday morning as 28-year-old Cody Ray-Anthony Kleitz.

Kleitz is being charged with open murder, operating under the influence of a controlled substance causing death, fleeing police officer (two counts) and receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle.

The charges are in connection with the death of 49-year-old Adrian Smith, who was a passenger in the vehicle Kleitz was driving.
