Suspect in murder of 6-year-old Grace Ross files motion to dismiss

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Anthony Hutchens has filed a motion to dismiss the charges against him in the murder of 6-year-old Grace Ross.

Hutchens is facing murder and child molesting charges in the death of Ross in March 2021.

Hutchens recently was granted his motion to waive a jury trial.

His attorney filed a motion to dismiss on Tuesday. 

At the end of May, the court appointed two doctors for competency and insanity evaluations.

One of those reports was filed at the end of June.

The state has 30 days to respond to the motion to dismiss.
