MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- One of the men accused of killing 78-year-old Paul Costello last year pleaded guilty Monday morning.
Gauvin Monaghan pleaded guilty to one count of murder and the other charges were dismissed.
This comes one year and one day after Costello was found.
Costello's body was found in a blue plastic drum, covered with sheet metal, on his property on November 5 after being missing for a short time.
Autopsy results showed that Costello was killed by a blunt force trauma to the head
Monaghan and Maeson Coffin were arrested in New York state driving Costello's vehicle. They were taken into custody and extradited to Indiana.
Monaghan will be sentenced December 13. He faces between 45 and 65 years in prison.
Costello's family will testify at the sentencing.
Coffin's trial is scheduled to start on January 9.
