Swoop, McFadden will be Co-Grand Marshals for St. Patrick's Parade

Courtesy of Downtown South Bend SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Downtown South Bend has announced that long-time South Bend staples Swoop and Terry McFadden will be Co-Grand Marshals for the 24th Annual St. Patrick's Parade.
The tribute is more than deserved for both of the longtime Michiana legends who are retiring this year.
McFadden just retired earlier this month after over 40 years as a reporter in the Michiana area.
Swoop the Silver Hawk, one of the two mascots for the South Bend Cubs, has announced his retirement at the end of the 2024 season.
Swoop’s final game will be on Sunday, August 25 as the team celebrates his 28 years as team mascot with a special bobblehead giveaway. Swoop’s first game as the team mascot was back on April 8, 1997.
