Two-vehicle crash sends one to hospital in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -Cass County authorities say around 3:02 p.m. Saturday, a call came in of a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of M 60 and Shore Acres Road in Penn Township. 

Officials say their investigation shows a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Skyler Szczepanski, of Gobles, was traveling eastbound on M 60 when he failed to stop at a safe distance, crashing into the rear of a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Savannah Watson, of Cassopolis, who was trying to turn left into a business.

Watson was taken by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities say the involved parties wore seatbelts and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
