PORTAGE, Ind. -- A discussion about the energy affordability crisis in Indiana and the extension of NIPSCO's winter moratorium was held Tuesday, March 10.
The 30-day extension is insufficient; these measures are short-term fixes that don’t address the underlying affordability issues according to attendees.
They are calling for long-term affordability actions, citing the impact on NIPSCO's 900,000 gas and 500,000 electric customers.
The meeting was called for community involvement, including attending a town hall, writing to the governor, and testifying at the IURC meeting, to address the crisis.
