LA PAZ, Ind. -- What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? Your family? Your Friends?
How about the roof over your head?
ABC57 News was invited to exclusively follow along, as Bran Roofing surprised a Walkerton woman with a brand new roof.
Nicole Shaeks was at her mom's house for the holiday, when Kevin Sauer, the owner of Bran Roofing, knocked on her door.
Over 100 people entered the sweepstakes to win a free roof, but Shaeks was the lucky one.
She was at a loss for words.
"I'm emotional, I'm so happy," she says. "My roof is horrible, it was actually leaking. I'm so thankful."
As for Sauer, this was something he wanted to do, to give back to the community this holiday season.
"A lot of people can't afford it. You can drive by any town, and you'll see a blue roof on somebody's house," he explains. "We can afford it and we can afford giving them a roof."
The other participants in the sweepstakes will receive a 10% discount towards their next roofing needs.
