ELKHART, Ind. -- A woman and a young man are recovering after having to be rescued from a car stuck in flood waters.
Around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, a military-sized rescue took place on the intersection of Indiana Ave. and Sterling Ave. in Elkhart.
The Elkhart Police Department and Elkhart Fire Department brought in this truck while responding to a car stuck in flood waters. Video showing the car submerged to its tires and emergency crews rescuing an older woman and a young man from a green Kia Soul.
Both make it inside the truck safely and as the vehicle heads back to dry land and the passengers exit, an emotional reunion. The woman and young man hugging loved ones, grateful that they’re okay.
