Metro Homicide investigating suspicious house fire

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide is investigating a house fire that left four people injured. The fire happened at 857 Greenview at approximately 11:40 p.m.

“I looked out my window and I seen lots of cop cars, lots of fire trucks, and I seen caution tape around a house across the street from my house,” said neighbor Brooke Fraling.

Police said upon arrival they determined the fire was suspicious.

“There was more cops than firemen so I knew something was bad,” said neighbor Steve Goodman.

Four people were inside the home when the fire started.

Police said passing motorists saw the fire and help the victims get out of the house.

Robert Tucker, 49, suffered burns over most of his body. He was taken to the Fort Wayne Burn Center. He is extremely critical, according to Metro Homicide.

The other victims were identified as 19-year-old Bradley Ewing, 20-year-old Sara Ewing and 28-year-old Victoria Daniels. All three are stable.

Metro Homicide investigators say the fire was started from an outside source, possibly a molotov cocktail that was thrown through a window.

They need the public's help with the investigation. If you have any information, contact MHU at 235-5009 or Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP or 800-342-STOP.
