Woman charged in connection to Long John Silvers robbery

An Elkhart woman is facing charges in Michigan in connection to a 2014 armed robbery.

In May 2014, police say Eddie Macon, Jr. was killed by officers while trying to leave Long John Silvers after a robbery.

Investigators say Macon pointed his gun at multiple officers and started running, when three officers fired at him and Macon fell to the ground.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after.

Kavina Ward, 27,of Elkhart is now charged with aiding and abetting Macon.  

According to police, she drove Macon to the scene of the crime in Berrien County. 

She will have a preliminary examination hearing October 6, 2015.
