Zach Anderson finally off Indiana and Michigan sex offender registries

Elkhart teen Zach Anderson has been fighting to get off the sex offender registries in both Indiana and Michigan. He and his family were finally successful.

Zach Anderson has been removed from the Indiana sex offender registry, according to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

Anderson pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct in the 4th degree in March 2015.

In April he was sentenced to 90 days in the Berrien County Jail, 5 years probation and was put on the sex offender registries in Indiana and Michigan.

In September 2015, that sentence was vacated because a trial court judge ruled the prosecutor in the case did not comply with the terms of the plea agreement.

Zachery was re-sentenced in October to two years probation and was taken off the Michigan sex offender registry.

His family has spend thousands of dollars fighting the initial sentencing.

Zach has admitted to having sex with a girl he met on the dating app Hot or Not but says the girl lied about her age. She was 14-years-old at the time.

They argued he didn't deserve to be put on the sex offender registry.

Zach was officially off the registry as of Friday.
